Few words about the Ovum Pick Up (OPU).

This is one of fastest developing assisted reproduction techniques. It helps in improving the genetic value of the herd. It is performed on highest genetic value donors in order to increase the number of offspring per year. During the procedure, operator is using the OPU guide for ovum retrieval from the ovary under the ultrasound guidance. The quality of the oocytes is assessed under the microscope. Best cells are chosen for in-vitro fertilization. After few days the embryos are transferred to the recipients. The procedure is considered safe and can be repeated many times.

Multipurpose Draminski OPU guide

Designed for bovine and equine. Draminski OPU System can be handled by the single operator or by assistant. It is compatible with many types of needles, ranging from 20G hypodermic to 12G double lumen ones, as well as with full range of lines and tubes.

OPU System

The guide is made from light and easy to clean plastic material. It is fast to assembly and disassembly. The ultrasound probe covers 136° degree field of view. The needle comes right above the surface of the lens to reduce the blind spot.

The needle path on the ultrasound image improves the precision of ovum pick up procedure.
